Sometimes, during my regular patrols through the tech blogs, I'm struck dumb by some of the posts that pass for news thrown up by some of the better known bloggers. Baseless rumour, unsubstantiated scuttlebutt, flimsily sourced "exclusives" mix so regularly with legit news that it is sometimes hard to tell the two apart. Here's one that got my goat the other day: Valleywag's reportage on a power outage in SF -- blaming it on a rampaging drunk when in reality it was just an equipment malfunction, the kind of thing most Central Line punters deal with every morning. I shouldn't be so hard on Valleywag though. They gave me material for my most recent Times' column.
